“Song of the Seagull”, is a brand new musical play.
The young Chekhov, surrounded by the Bohemian artists of the time – artists, writers and musicians – is lured away from his medical profession and begins to take his writing seriously.
His involvement with a young gypsy singer/actress and his relationship with landscape artist lead to a life-changing painting excursion to the Volga one summer.
Tragedy and disillusion inevitably follow the young, impetuous passion.
Buoyed by beautiful music and song, the very atmosphere becomes enhanced by the use of a specially composed score.
Set in the MENIER ART GALLERY by London Bridge, this is a site specific piece, literally set within an art/performance installation, where the audience also become part of the landscape.
