Sex and the Village by Rebecca Applin and Susannah Pearse.
In conjunction with launching our licensing catalogue at the end of 2012 we advertised a competition for one amateur group to be able to produce this new musical comedy, royalty free and to work in partnership with us through their rehearsal and production process.
We also offered the winners the chance to record a full demo of the show alongside West End Performers and in return for producing the premiere production they will receive an on-going royalty in future productions of the musical.
The selected group was Bury St Edmunds amateur operatic and dramatic society. This marks the 110th year that the society have been performing at the Theatre Royal, Bury and they have never produced a new British musical before… so now seems as good a time as any! The production is scheduled for November 2013 at the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds.
Partnering with Arts Educational Schools March 25th - 29th. Their MA - Musical Theatre Creative Practice students are workshopping three shows from within our network: Lia's Guide to Winning the Lottery, The House of Mirrors and Hearts and Heaven Help Me! The student directors will cast and run the workshops overseen by our own musical supervisor Paul Herbert and associate director Ryan McBryde.
Heaven Help Me! by Tom Bruno-Magdich and Philippa Waller had a one-off fundraising showcase in anticipation of a potential Edinburgh Fringe Production later this year. Directed by Ryan McBryde, MD'd by Paul Herbert. Cast featured Ako Mitchell, Norman Bowman, CiCi Howells, Robbie Towns, Sarah Scowen, Christian Edwards and Vivienne Carter the showcase took place early March.

Lift by Craig Adams and Ian Watson had its premiere production at Soho Theatre at the start of this year and played to full houses for almost every performance. Produced by Theatre Bench in association with Soho Theatre, Ros Povey and Perfect Pitch. Directed by Steven Paling, the cast featured Julie Atherton, Nikki Davis-Jones, Cynthia Erivo, Jonny Fines, Luke Kempner, Ellie Kirk, George Maguire and Robbie Towns.
