University of Cumbria
We are thrilled to be working with one of our most recent partners on three shows from within our Network. The University of Cumbria are workshopping, rehearsing and presenting "Dangerous Daughters" "Lia's Guide To Winning The Lottery" and "In Touch".

Each show is in a different stage of development with Perfect Pitch and this is a fantastic opportunity to move each work onto the next stage. It also provides the students on the Musical Theatre Joint Honours Course with a chance to work on new material with professional directors and musical directors and also with the writers, allowing them to have an input in shaping the pieces.

October 22nd-26th will see a workshop at the university for each of the shows (more details below) and December - January will see an intensive workshop and rehearsal period culminating in public performances of the musicals. Links to book tickets for each show are also below...

DANGEROUS DAUGHTERS
By Annemarie Lewis Thomas and Nick Stimson

The show was originally written for the students at The Musical Theatre Academy in 2011. Perfect Pitch attended this premiere production and felt that with some workshopping and rewrites the show could be adapted to suit other professional colleges and companies. The show was signed up to the PP Network earlier this year and, whilst the writers have been busy writing and rewriting, this marks the first practical development period on the show.

LIA'S GUIDE TO WINNING THE LOTTERY
By Keren David and Paul Herbert

This show started its journey as a musical at the beginning of this year when PP read the novel of the same title by award winning novelist for Young Adults - Keren David. PP were interested in adapting the novel into a musical that could appeal to a teenage audience and together with their associate MD Paul Herbert and the students at the Musical Theatre Academy they 'workshopped' together a 20 minute opening to the show to see if the concept had potential. After the success of the workshop PP approached Keren to see if it was a project she would be interested in collaborating on with them.... she said yes... and here it is! The students at the University of Cumbria will be working on the first draft of this musical in its very embyonic stages and will play a large part in the shaping of the show.

IN TOUCH
By Dougal Irvine

In Touch is in it's final stages of development. It started life with Perfect Pitch back in 2008 and they showcased the first act in 2009. PP have developed the show in partnership with many different establishments including LIPA, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and The Musical Theatre Academy. The RCS produced the first act at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010 and earlier this year The Musical Theatre Academy produced the first production of the full show. The University of Cumbria will provide the opportunity to workshop some rewrites that have since been made on the second act. The show forms part of Perfect Pitch's Licensing Catalogue.
