THE GO-BETWEEN is adapted from L.P. Hartley's classic novel that inspired Joseph Losey's equally classic film. Young Leo spends the summer holidays at his schoolfriend's imposing country house in Norfolk. His innocent desire to please is taken advantage of by Marian, the beautiful upper-class daughter of the household and Ted, her tenant farmer lover, between whom Leo carries the notes that arrange their illicit liaisons. When things go catastrophically wrong, Leo's world shatters, and the effects are life long. Old Leo looks back on his unfulfilled past and tries to banish once and for all the memories that have for so long haunted him.
